i made this blanket in preparation for the next baby, but when she came i didn't think it looked like her, so i made her another one and this one is waiting, for some special child to come along!

i went to kansas last summer to help my cousins. they had just moved back into their house after they had added a nice addition and a basement. i helped them with children, cleaning, and a baby! =) every night i knitted in my room, adding a little more every chance i got. trying to keep it a surprise for the whole family was hard, but i managed, it was quite a challenge with the youngsters always wanting to be by my side, hardly leaving it even to let me sleep.

it wasn't until the second baby cousin that i started making blankets..so for him i made an animal! =)

my aunt was given yarn by a lady from mississippi, and my aunt doesn't knit! =) thinking that maybe i'd have a use for the soft beautiful cuddly yarn, she gave it to me.
so i knitted up these two blankets...

they were practice, tried out a new pattern on the square! and it turned out!
